M-Tech is hiring for our Clubs and Summer programs. We are looking for lead activities coordinators, and activities coordinators to facilitate sessions while engaging learners in a safe and professional learning environment. Lead Activities Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent M-Tech to all students, parents and peers
  • Set-up, implement, and lead activity sessions for all ages
  • Plan extra activities and events, as needed
  • Assist with the management of Activity Coordinator staff
  • Develop and lead the Activities Department training
  • Oversee an assigned area of the Activities Department
  • Attend / Lead Activities Team meetings, as needed
  • Continuously look for areas of improvement to offer the ideal student experience
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Activities Coordinator
  • Ability to engage students and generate enthusiasm
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Drive to take action and assist the team as needed
  • Ability to change plans quickly and remain calm under pressure

Salary: TBC (Based on Experience)

Desired Skills:

We are seeking intermediate or higher knowledge in two or more of the areas within the subjects listed.

Programming

C (variables, iteration, conditionals, pointers, arrays, functions, derived data types, and basic searching and sorting)
Java (variables, iteration, conditionals, arrays, functions, derived data types, basic searching and sorting, classes and object oriented principles)
Ability to learn new software quickly

Art and Animation

12 Principles of animation
Maya
Art fundamentals (perspective, shading, form, and color theory)
Intermediate music and sound design (digital recording experience strongly preferred)
Ability to learn new software quickly
Costuming, performance art, or puppetry

Games Design

Basic programming skills in any high-level language (variable, iteration, conditionals, and functions)
Enthusiastic and frequent player of tabletop and video games
Ability to learn new software quickly

Microcontrollers

Intermediate knowledge of Arduino and/or BBC MicroBit
Intermediate knowledge of programming microcontrollers
Intermediate electronics and breadboarding skills
Intermediate knowledge of electronics

Robotics

Intermediate knowledge of building/configuring robotics kits
Intermediate knowledge of robotic programming

Activities Coordinator

  • Assist with student check-in
  • Manage daily lunchtime procedures
  • Monitor Parents Drop-off and Pick-up points
  • Monitor building exits to ensure student safety
  • Assist the team with administrative tasks
  • Other duties as assigned.
